About Us
Caledonia Family Counseling LLC is owned and operated by Eddie and Penny Millhollon, licensed therapists who are also husband and wife. Caledonia Family Counseling began in Paisley, Scotland, just outside of Glasgow; hence the name Caledonia which is Latin for Scotland.Â
Penny Millhollon, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT-S, AAMFT-S
Penny received a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  Penny is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and a licensed professional counselor (LPC). She is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). She is a supervisor for provisionally-licensed LPCs and is also an AAMFT-approved supervisor of provisionally licensed LMFTs. Penny served on the LPC Board of Examiners as Chair of the Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Committee from 2010 to 2018. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages and particularly loves helping people find solutions to relational problems. She frequently works with couples, parents of teenagers and younger children, stepfamilies, blended families, college students, relational conflict, infidelity, divorce recovery, and healthy separations. Penny also works with women’s issues such as post-partum depression, infertility, and pre-, peri-, and post-menopausal challenges.  She is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) for treating trauma. Penny is a Board-approved teletherapy provider.
Eddie P. Millhollon, Ph.D., LPC-S
Eddie’s transition into counseling was born of a profound personal turning point. Following a distinguished first career as an agricultural and environmental scientist—anchored by a Ph.D. from LSU—a family tragedy reshaped his path, revealing a new calling in healing and family systems. This led him back to academia to earn a second Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, where he dedicated his research to the complex intersection of family dynamics and schizophrenia.
Eddie’s clinical expertise is as deep as it is diverse. Having served as the Clinical Director for Shreveport’s oldest counseling agency, he is as adept at navigating high-conflict family systems as he is at supporting individuals through complex trauma. Today, he specializes in PTSD recovery as a practitioner trained in both EMDR and Trauma-Focused CBT. A dedicated mentor, he also serves as a Board-approved supervisor for the next generation of Louisiana’s counselors.
When he is away from his practice, Eddie and his wife, Penny, are often found exploring the landscapes and culture of Scotland, a country they visit as often as possible.
