About Us

Caledonia Family Counseling LLC is owned and operated by Eddie and Penny Millhollon, licensed therapists who are also husband and wife. Caledonia Family Counseling began in Paisley, Scotland, just outside of Glasgow; hence the name Caledonia which is Latin for Scotland.

Eddie P. Millhollon, Ph.D., LPC-S

Eddie has a diverse background.  He has a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University (LSU) in Agronomy specializing in Plant Physiology.  In the midst of a rewarding career as an environmental research scientist with LSU, a family tragedy led him to consider a possible second career as a counselor.  He obtained a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from LSU-Shreveport and completed a second Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. His dissertation research brought together his passion for family therapy and his fascination with schizophrenia.  After completing licensure requirements to become a licensed professional counselor in Louisiana, he retired from his career with LSU and began his second career as a licensed professional counselor.  He has been the Clinical Director for The Center for Families, Shreveport's oldest counseling agency, where he worked extensively with individuals, couples, and families.  He also has experience in working with adolescents and adults with serious mental illnesses.  More recently, his attention has turned to helping those who have been through psychological trauma and are suffering with trauma-related issues such as PTSD.  He is trained in both EMDR and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. He is also a supervisor for provisionally-licensed LPCs in Louisiana.  Eddie is a Board-approved teletherapy provider.

Eddie and Penny share a love of Scotland where they visit as often as possible.
